A Brisbane Journey
$130.00
Written for the 2017 Composition Contest hosted by the South Brisbane Federal Brass Band.
‘A Brisbane Journey’ is a set of 5 movements and the music is not programmatic – it merely attempts to describe the beauty and the wonder of the city, rather than telling a specific story.
- Daybreak at Kangaroo Point. Overlooking the city, the beautiful vantage point of Kangaroo Point boasts pristine panoramic views of Brisbane.
- Treetop Walkway. A little further south in the Gold Coast Hinterlands you’ll find Treetop Walkway, where you can overlook the treetop canopy and take in the picturesque vista of the hinterlands.
- Southbank Promenade. Meander along the manmade beach, or under the beautifully vibrant pink-flowered archways that line the Southbank’s pavements.
- Summer Storms. The weather in Brisbane can flip at the drop of a hat and it’s not unusual to get caught in an extremely heavy summer storm.
- View from the Wheel. Located outside the Queensland Performing Arts Centre, is the Brisbane Wheel. It’s not the biggest. It’s not the tallest nor fastest. But it gives a great view of the city and is a must for any tourist.
