Halcyon

Originally written for Clarinettist Bethan Jones whilst the composer was at the Royal Northern College of Music, Halcyon means ‘denoting a period of time in the past that was idyllically happy and peaceful’. This was my final year at the RNCM and I had thoroughly enjoyed my time there – so wrote this piece of idyllic music to capture that feeling.

This work has been adapted for B-Flat cornet, but would work well on flugelhorn, euphonium, baritone or B-Flat bass!
